Happy New Year 2010!!!

WOW !! Where did 2009 go?!! It sure the heck wasn't chronicled on my blog anywhere. So, I am inserting our December newsletter that we sent out to people on our address list for card exchange. We had fun sending out a holiday hello for the first time and really enjoyed receiving cards. Love and peace for this year!

Greetings from our new home in Lolo, Montana. We hope this letter finds you happy and well. It has been a great year and many wonderful events have taken place.
Our biggest celebration came with the birth of our newest daughter Anya Pauline, who was born the 2nd of January. Her birth was amazing! She weighed 8 lb 11 oz and has been a healthy and beautiful baby. Joseph was there to receive her, and once again, Mommy was the only doctor present.
In February, our first “family of four” vacation took us to see grandparents in Utah and then Florida. Nadia enjoyed meeting Ariel the mermaid, Snow White, and Tinkerbell at Disney World for her 3rd birthday.
Once spring rolled around, we went house hunting. We looked at several that weren’t good matches and finally found “the one.” The paper trail this time around was atrocious, but we finally moved in on July 4th. It is a spacious home with very nice views of the surrounding mountains and is an easy Sunday walk to church.
The spring brought us a new family tradition: camping! Anya and Nadia got a few overnight woodsy experiences, and it was a blast. Beth really enjoys all the details in getting new gear. The highlight campout was a Father’s Day trip to Glacier National Park and, yes, it is that beautiful.
The summer and new home brought lots of visitors to Montana for the first time. We were happy to host grandmas and grandpas, sisters, and other family and friends. If you ever get the urge, Montana is a great place to come! *wink wink*
In August, Beth completed her first year of practice at Missoula Osteopathic Clinic and continues to love what she is doing. She is working four days a week, and we enjoy the family time that this lifestyle affords. Nadia also began her first year of preschool at Clark Fork School. She really enjoys creating art, going on field trips, and playing outside (as well as lunch with her friends).
We managed a trip to Yellowstone National Park; however, we didn’t see much because of forest fires. We then prepared for our big vacation: the Virgin Islands! It was a distinct honor for Nadia to be the flower girl for our friends’ wedding, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in the sun and the sand. Joseph even got his first sunburn…didn’t think that was possible.
Halloween was fun as the girls dressed up as baby Yoda (Anya) and Snow White (Nadia). The Snow White costume won the prize for the cutest costume at the downtown Children’s Museum. It was also the first time that we had ever handed out candy as a married couple.
As we reflected back on the year during Thanksgiving and decorate our home for Christmas, we are so grateful for our everyday experiences and the fun little traditions that we are building. We are blessed to be healthy and are working towards literacy (Nadia) and mobility (Anya). We treasure our friends and family that love us. Please know that we love you too.
And with that said, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2010!
